Paris – Must sees in the City of Love
A few days visit in Paris is a must do when travelling in Europe. The city of love is on the travelling bucket list of many people… and after my visit I do understand why. You won’t be bored in Paris for a moment. From the Netherlands I cached the train and arrived in the center of Paris in a few hours. I’ve spent a long weekend in this beautiful city. The following highlights are the must sees when you go to Paris.
The Eiffel Tower is the icon of Paris! If you’re in Paris you can’t miss this iconic tower. Buy a ticket and take the elevator to the top. From the top of off the Eiffel Tower you have an amazing view over the city. You can see the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysées. Go early in the morning to be ahead of the long queues.
Louvre is the most famous museum in Paris. The Louvre is recognizable of the iconic glass pyramids. One half of the pyramid is visible from the square. The other half can be seen inside the museum. The Louvre is very large and if you’re not a true art lover, make a selection from the items you want to see. But if you’re an art lover you can easily fill a whole day in the Louvre museum.
Do you like shopping? Than the Champs-Elysees is the place to be. A beautiful avenue with luxurious shops, nice restaurants and even a cinema. You don’t know where to look. If you’re planning to do some shopping here take a well-filled wallet with you. Because Paris isn’t a cheap city to visit. Buy a ticket at the Arc de Triomphe and take the stairs up. From the balustrade you have a good view of this famous avenue.
Palace de Luxembourg
If you’re looking for a litte relaxation in busy Paris? Then bring a visit to the Palace de Luxembourg. You can’t visit the palace itself, but the surrounding garden is beautiful. Jardin de Luxembourg is not really a garden but a complete park. You can walk around or just relax.
The Moulin Rouge is located in the Montmarte district and is a nightclub where you can still see some shows. The nightclub lives up to its name because on the roof there is a small red moulin. I didn’t see the Moulin Rouge from the inside, but it’s fun to watch the club when you’re in the area. After all, it is one of the most famous places in Paris.
